Mathias Alt

Mathias Alt founded GetAhead Supply Chain Solutions during his mid-career MBA in California to meet the growing demand of companies for relocating and diversifying their supply chains in Asia.

With a background in Engineering and Management, Alt’s career focused on automotive procurement, with global sourcing responsibility for BIW, Electronics and Connectivity components of Volkswagen Group.

Mathias Alt was instrumental in maintaining supply capability and reducing costs for modularized parts used in high volumes across the car lines of VW, Audi, Škoda, and Porsche brands.

In VW’s Procurement Department for New Products, he was responsible for technical changes and ramp-ups of BIW press parts and welded assemblies. Additionally, Mathias Alt managed Volkswagen’s procurement projects in China for mid and full-size segment car lines during their development phases.

A major milestone was to negotiate and reach an agreement with VW’s Joint Ventures in China to form a buying group and consolidate procurement volumes.
