Emerging from the challenging task of organizing the procurement of new cars, GetAhead specializes in setting up new supply chains for technology-intensive products and improving existing supply chains. We combine local market knowledge with best practice methods from the automotive industry and transfer these to procurement projects across a wide array of industries.
With our local presence across Southeast Asia, India, and Japan, we obtain the best and most recent market information. We utilize this information to build a supply strategy and support companies in all procurement activities along the project lifecycle. Our projects include implementation steps such as continuous supplier monitoring, quality management, and supplier development programs – all managed for you at the respective supplier’s production site.
How GetAhead Came Into Being
The idea of GetAhead as a procurement consulting company with a focus on Asia has its roots in the international MBA program at USC Marshall School of Business in Los Angeles, CA.
Ongoing supply chain disruptions and geopolitical changes make it necessary for an increasing number of companies to define and implement a new supplier strategy in Asia. This is particularly challenging for small and medium sized enterprises as they often don’t have the resources to respond and act locally in all new markets of Asia.

About Mathias: Mathias Alt holds BS and MS degrees in Industrial Engineering and Management from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany and an MBA from University of Southern California (USC). After several cross-brand positions in the Procurement & Supply Chain organization of VW Group, he founded the procurement consultancy GetAhead in Singapore with branch offices in Southeast Asia, India, and Japan.
